I used to live in the surrounding Road and always heard positive reviews although I never went in. It's very popular in the summer and there are many games played a week. Dean Park is a cricket ground in Bournemouth, England, currently used by Bournemouth University Cricket Club, as well as by Parley Cricket Club and Suttoners Cricket Club. It was formerly used by Hampshire, and has hosted 343 first-class matches since the first in 1897, but none since 1992. And with thoughts turning to balmy days of summer, Bournemouth’s Dean Park Cricket Ground is proud to announce the town’s very first Festival of Cricket. The four-day event will run over the May Day Bank Holiday as the first part of a summer of celebration as Dean Park marks its 135th anniversary with a renewed sense of purpose. I can certainly remember watching Hampshire play cricket at Dean Park Cricket Ground well into the 1980s, a significantly time after the boundaries had changed. Cricket (along with other generally amateur sports) is something of a throwback as regards Counties.
